Booking.com is not really available for the partner. They always choose the client instead.
They ask a lot of commission – even during covid-19 and they constantly give discounts away that the accommodation has to pay.
The accommodation meanwhile, is forced to join in on all the actions that booking.com provides. Otherwise they continue to harass you with e-mails stating that you are ”missing out” and not doing enough for your clients. If you join in – expect to give away at least 40% discount. That is the whole reason while hotels are so expensive nowadays to visit – because at least 18% commission discounts that the accommodation has to pay herself, thus we higher the rate.
There has also been a case of a client not visiting us, not wanting to pay cancellation fees, booking.com shows no response but still wants its commission and the client on top somehow can give us a review of a 1 (out of 10) without ever having visited us.
Gewenste Oplossing:
Better payment guarantees for the accommodation.
Clear communication.
For 2 clients no commission fee to pay as they never visited us
