My wife and I are expecting our first child in 2-months, and I did my research and purchased the perfect car seat on Vinted for approximately EUR 200. I paid via IDEA, but after several hours, the seller cancelled the order because she would not ship from France to the Netherlands. I then found another seller with the same car seat model, purchased again, and paid via IDEA (also approximately EUR 200). Vinted then automatically cancelled my order. I received a message that the money would be returned to my account, 5 business days later. I monitored my bank account, and on the date they said it would be returned, no transfer came through. I sent Vinted a message the next day asking about the refund. They initially responded with a message stating that they have “TECHNICAL ISSUES” with their refund system and that the “money could not be transferred back to my account” at this time. I sent a follow-up message to ask when their system would be fixed and when I should expect to receive the money back in my account. Vinted then sent another message saying that it had already been returned, and if I thought it had not, I needed to send them copies of my bank statement. I sent them copies of my bank statement to prove that no transfer came through. I sent multiple messages again, as they did not respond. They responded with mix messages, and that I should wait another 10-days. I followed-up again, and now am receiving the same message that “their system is down.” Our first child will be born in less than 2-months, and the extra EUR 400 is needed. I’m very concerned that I will never receive this money. I am also very concerned for other customers of Vinted. This matter should be investigated, and resolved, not just for me, but for other victims.
