My partner and I have got the Senseo coffee machine. We’ve been customers of your coffee pads for more than 6 years now. I personally do not drink coffee, but I do enjoy a flavoured variation sometimes. My partner on the other hand drinks coffee daily.

I’m since recently exploring zero waste which means refusing all single-use products. Our dependence on single-use items is driving many of our environmental problems. It’s a shame that  plastic packaging is used for a few minutes and then it ends up floating in our oceans, polluting our lands, or just sitting around in landfills for far longer than it was ever used for.

Because of that reason, I feel sad that your packaging itself is not recyclable. I appreciate that your normal coffee pads themselves (like the strong taste pads) are in bags that I believe are compostable. We decided that we will continue using your product despite the packaging.

I mentioned that I sometimes enjoy a flavoured variation of coffee, so I recently decided to buy the senseo coffee pads with chocolate flavour. I must say that I was more than sad and disappointed to find out that the coffee pads contained plastic in them.

I was wondering if you’ve got any plans to change your packaging and do something about the pads that contain plastic. If there are no such plans, I am afraid that this would mean that your coffee can no longer be part of our lives. I’ll be grateful if you let me know.
