We filled a form at home-bell website for plaster paint. We stopped at the page where it asked for the payment but after this, we started getting calls from Homebell to start work at the earliest. It happened so quick that one evening we agreed on the phone to start and a day later partner started the work. We allowed him to work alone for the whole day, in the evening we found many anomalies in the work they performed (no corner profiles, no floor cover, no window cover, and they even broke one smart electric switch worth 500 euros).
We had some arguments with the contractor – asked him to perform the work properly and pay for the damaged switch, but he refused due to the extra costs. He politely informed us that he cannot work and we agreed to discontinue the engagement and settle the dispute with Home-bell.
Next day we discussed the case and damages with Homebell, everything looked very professional. Homebell asked us to provide evidences of damage and the associated costs, that we did. Later they asked us to send a formal email to cancel the engagement highlighting all the reasons, and they promised to settle the dispute asap.
Later we received an email indicating we canceled the contract and as a penalty we need to pay 50% costs of work done by the contractor. This is a clear fraud as they did not work properly, did broke stuff and later blaming us that we cancelled the contract, and we’re now in conflict since last few months.
