Een langdurige klant van Basic Fit in Utrecht klaagt over een onterecht opgelegde vergoeding van 191 euro na het beëindigen van zijn contract. Ondanks eerdere communicatie met medewerkers over het beëindigen van zijn lidmaatschap, ontving hij later een factuur omdat zijn contract automatisch was verlengd. De klant stelt dat hij niet geïnformeerd was over de vereiste procedure om zijn contract officieel te beëindigen.

Mijn Klacht:

I am a long-term client of Basic Fit @ Herculesplein in Utrecht. I started training there in 2013, where the club belonged to HealthCity fitness. I had a one-year contract from November 2015, but in June 2016 i left The Netherlands and during my last visit to the club i informed the employees that i want to stop my contract after it will expire. They said it’s not going to be a problem. However, i later that year i received an email that i have to pay 191 Euro, because my contract was extended. I contacted the customer service and they said it does not work like this and i apparently had to write an official paper, stating that i want to finish my contract. NO ONE INFORMED ME ABOUT THAT. Now i received an email that i have to pay 50 euros because of their stupid policies. If BasicFit employees at the club do not have any responsibility, why should i pay?

Dear Aigerim,

Thank you for your message.

I'm sorry to read, that you feel like your not informed well.

I've contacted the club, and they indicate, that they never accept request for termination. Unfortunately there is no form who says you did.

I see you had contact with the customer support ont the 21st of November 2016, with my colleague John. Here you ask for a next subscription even though you still had an active one. You ask for a monthly canceble membership, because you have to leave the country in February.

My colleague indicated that you already have a active membership with a year payment. This shows me, you we're informed of an active memebership that needs to be paid.

After this, Madelon received your e-mail, and took that e-mail as the request for termination.

Unfortunately, because of this, I cannot change the outstanding fee.

I kindly ask you to fullfil the payment. You can transfer an amount of € 61,88 to NL24RABO 0168476207. Don't forget to mention your membership number.

I will not
pay because it is unfair. I was a client of Basic fit for many years and would buy another subscription if this case would not arise. i believe that you don't care about your clients and are not a very smart company because instead of charging 60 euros once you could have retained one client for many years more.

9 jaren geleden - Dear Aigerim, Thank you for your message. I understand your point, but this doesn't take away the fact, there is an outstanding fee, which is charged in an active period. Of course we are happy to have you as our member so you can practice fitness, but we do have terms and conditions that needs to be followed. I hope you understand this.
