Een passagier heeft een klacht ingediend bij EasyJet over het missen van een vlucht van Londen naar Amsterdam op 15 september. De passagier geeft aan dat de vlucht eerder vertrok dan gepland, waardoor zij de aansluiting vanaf het station niet konden halen door vertraging op de weg.

Dear Sir,

We want to make a complaint on the 16.20 flight back to Amsterdam as we missed the flight due to early leaving of the airplane. We left on time from London into the direction of Southend airport. Our train left at 13.50 but due to road blocking, the time needed for the travel took more time than was indicated to us. We knew that at 15.50 the gate would be closed. We then phoned the airport. The woman we spoke indicated that we get the flight if we were there at 16.00 as the plane would leave at 16:20. We arrived at 14.55 at Southend airport. We were shown the way and we spurts us to the gate (we had already checked in online ). However, when we arrived at the gate we were told that the plane was taxiing too early. As a result we missed the plane together with 15 other people. The servants were very surprised because we were so many and we had communicated our delay in advance. We were told that we needed a new flight and we had nowhere to go with our complaint. They were also very surprised but this was the situation. We booked for £ 60 per person for a trip the next morning at 8:30 . We were at 5.45 at the airport. There we were told that the plane was overbooked and that only one of us could be taken on the flight. We were stunned and then also heard that this was a common practice. All Easyjet flights were overbooked and this happened more often . We were very surprised. We saw fellow passengers who had booked us after the previous day ( the day before and who had also missed the plane with us) could check in without any problems. At 7.15 hour there was suddenly two seats.

This whole affair makes us suspect that the day before other passengers already took our places and therefore the plane took of so early. We have made ​​additional cost of 189 pounds. We would like an allowance for these additional costs incurred.
