Mijn Klacht:
In October 2015, a solar system consisting of 15 pcs 260Wp panels and a Zeversolar inverter (TL3680) were installed in my home. Now on December 8th 2020 the inverter failed and according to both the installer and the contracted Project Execution Company (the seller, i.e. Zonneplan) this fault is fatal and the inverter unit can not be repaired. It needs replacing. This specific part carried a warranty of 5 years, and as such the warranty has expired by just 1.5 months. Based on this both Zonneplan, as well as Zeversolar (as per your feedback) claim that a change out will not be effected due to the warranty having expired by 1.5 month.
However due to Dutch consumers rights, a buyer is entitled to a good product. Meaning that the buyer is entitled to a repair or replacement of said product. The product is than called unfit for purpose. One is expected to be able to normally use a product. In other words a product is unfit for use if it does not offer the duty or performance which can be expected with normal use. I.e. if it lasts shorter than may be expected. On their own website, https://www.zonneplan.nl/kenniscentrum/zonnepanelen/zonnepanelen-recyclen , it is stated that Bij Zonneplan gaan omvormers gemiddeld 8 tot 12 jaar mee. I.e. with zonneplan inverters will on average last 8 to 12 years. Thereby creating a lifespan expectation which is substantially in excess (about double) of the experienced 5 years and 1.5 month.
As explained above, under the Dutch consumer rights, the seller of a product or service does not only remain liable during the warranty period if a product is unfit for use and lasts substantially shorter than can be expected.
However this smooth talking Company does NOTHING to take their responsibility.
Gewenste Oplossing:
An immediate replacement of the failed Zeversolar TL3680 inverter.
