I got signed up for an infinite membership by a member of staff who used my name and a fake bank account number she made up and I was not aware of that.
I initially came to ask about membership packages and if I could use my foreign bank card as a payment method. I was explained that it was not possible. Then the receptionist suggested to let me use the gym that evening, I got signed up with my full name and a fake number for a bank account about which I found out 6 months down the line when I received a letter with an accumulated bill.
The actions of the receptionist went way beyond the procedure. Without being aware that I got signed for a membership that evening, I came home and decided not to join the gym and was not aware that the membership was already created – because I was explained that without a Dutch bank account it is not possible anyway, so I carried on with my life and settling into the Netherlands. Until I was asked to pay for this caused by the fraudulent activity of the staff. She might not have had intentions to scam me, however, assigning incorrect details to my name on the system is already breaking the rules of her responsibilities and contract.
After bringing the situation to the attention of the management, I was told just to pay the accumulated bill. No apologies, no solutions, no service recovery. I never came back to Fit for Free and to be honest, I do not want to have business with a company of such attitude and disrespect towards it’s customers.
Terrible customer service.
