Een passagier heeft problemen ondervonden met Delta Airlines tijdens een reis van Santo Domingo naar Amsterdam via New York. De eerste vlucht was een uur vertraagd, waardoor de passagier te laat aankwam voor de aansluitende vlucht, waar de gereserveerde stoelen al bezet waren. De passagier werd zonder voorafgaande toestemming omgeboekt naar een andere vlucht en kreeg geen reactie op een klacht via de website van Delta.

Mijn Klacht:

I tried to contact delta airlines via the complain link, however no reaction.
On Sunday 12 of March we had a flight from Santo Domingo to Amsterdam with a connecting flight in New York. Firstly, we could not check-in in advance, what was very strange.
At the airport the first flight was an hour delayed. Therefore we arrived an hour later in New York and therefore we needed to hurry for our connecting flight to Amsterdam. Just on time, they still were boarding, we wanted to board but our seats were already taken. So we got an error and there was no place for us anymore in the plane and they rebooked us already to another flight they said without informing of approval of us but most of all our seats were just gone. We needed to go to the Delta counter for our rebooking. However, in the system we were not rebooked. After 30 minutes at the delta counter they luckily could rebook us at the next flight what was an hour later then our original flight. However, other people who were later at the counter were to late. When we were in the plane, we had an 3 hour delayed in the plane again. Therefore, we arrived 3 hours later in Amsterdam then planned. For us 4 hours later compared to hour original arrival time. At the airport, our luggage was not arrived. After informing the luggage was still in New York. So the luggage was not taken with the flight but also not with the original flight. One of the luggage arrived 1 day later however it was damage. Please see the pictures. I just had a new bag and now a wheel is missing and a lot of damage on the bag itself. My husband doesn’t has still his luggage. So we need to wait for that. So overall: (1) We could not check-in in advance (2) We had 2 delayed flights, one of 1 hour and another one of 3 hours (3) They rebooked us and our seats were taken (4) We were not rebooked and needed to arrange it by ourself (5) Our luggage was not arrived (6) One luggage is arrived and is damaged (7) After 3 days the other luggage finally arrived at home. I wait for your response and expect some compensation.

Gewenste Oplossing:

Enige compensatie voor de vertraging, waardoor we een extra werkdag vrij moesten nemen. En daarnaast compensatie voor de koffie die vernield is terwijl hij net nieuw is.
