Mijn Klacht:
This is complaint on a service I experienced today at McDonald’s Muntplein in Amsterdam. When operating during busy times, such as a public holiday, the costumer service is demeaning. Today was the Kings day, a national holiday in The Netherlands. To ensure order by the counter, the costumers were physically engaged by being pushed, braced by their arms and yelled at to move from one place to another. A lot of us were asked (shouted at) to move to the entrance of the place and approach the counter only when our number is being displayed on a piece of paper put on a stick held by one of the employees behind the counter. The displays with order numbers inside were not working properly so the paper on a stick was the way to get to the food we ordered via an automated display at the entrance. The tricky thing was that you couldn’t see the paper with your number from the entrance. ?! After 30-40 minutes and somehow getting the food, not all the things that were ordered (and paid for) were delivered in the bag. Also, the costumers had to pay for the toilet. I understand that they operate at a popular location in the center of Amsterdam and that they will have guests no matter what their attitude is towards customers, but this is no excuse for yelling and physical aggression.
Gewenste Oplossing:
If you cannot handle a large number of guests at once, close the place during busy dayshours or count people at the entrance and operate on a one outone in principle. Yelling and physical confrontation should not be the response to having a large number of guests who paid for your service.
