Een passagier ontdekte bij het inchecken voor een Vueling-vlucht dat de boarding passes alleen haar naam vermeldden, terwijl ook de naam van haar dochter op het ticket moest staan. Na contact met de klantenservice werd haar verteld dat het wijzigen van de naam op het ticket moeilijk was en dat hier kosten aan verbonden waren.

Mijn Klacht:

Thursday, March 28, 2019, I boarded a Vueling flight together with my daughter from Amsterdam to Barcelona and on the 31st of March we boarded a flight back from Barcelona to Amsterdam.

Wednesday the 27th of March 2019 I noted whilst checking in for the flight that our boarding passes were already given out. I also noted that for both flights, the boarding passes showed the same name, being my name (Cornelia Overkamp). This should have been my name AND my daughters name (Julia Wegman).
I thought this was reversable online, but this didn’t seem like an option. After this, I started calling the flight company and got an employee on the line.
This employee told me that changing the name of a plane ticket isn’t that easily possible and that costs are expected with a change like this. The fact that this change would bring along some costs isn’t surprising, but I was shocked to hear that it would cost me almost €500,- to change the ticket name from my name to my daughter’s name. If two boarding passes are given out with the exact same name, I would suppose you can see this as an unfortunate mistake and not as an attempt to fraud.
What surprised me the most is that in the reservation system of Vueling no alarms have gone off with this mistake I, unfortunately, made, as described above.
Talking to people in my direct environment, I heard that multiple people around me have had the same problem. Is this a way of Vueling to get more money out of the pockets of unknowing costumers who thought they could buy a relatively cheap plane ticket.
How it may be, I think it is ridiculous how this incident was handled by Vueling. This will also result in the fact that I will not be flying with Vueling ever again.
Hereby I file an official complaint against Vueling for the extra costs I had to make that resulted in a total sum of €403,-

Gewenste Oplossing:

It would be An improvement if during checking in, when the same name pumps up in de second ticket, there will be an alarm, of, better, you won’t be able at all to book it at all. I feel very unforunate to be charged for this high extra amount of money. I ready thank it’s outragage!
Please make sure people know about this. There is no option at Vueling to make a complaind.
