Mijn Klacht:
Hieronder vindt u de klacht in het Engels zoals ingediend. Daarop heb ik meerdere malen te horen gekregen dat ik volgens hen geen aanspraak maak op de vergoeding bij vertraging, maar dat we wel ons geld terugkrijgen.
We zouden 9 april 2015 vliegen en het is nu 28 mei. We zijn bijna twee maanden verder. Ondertussen heb ik de belofte om terug te betalen twee keer gelezen en twee keer gehoord, maar zonder resultaat.
Klacht zoals op hun website achtergelaten:
Yesterday, on the 9th of April, my wife, our son (20 months) and I were scheduled to fligh to Malaga on flight VY8367 at 1920h. However the flight was repeatedly delayed and finally cancelled.
All the Vueling related personel couldn’t tell us anything about the delay or when the flight would arrive. As a result we have waited till 00:00h without getting more information. It was only when our family living in Spain contacted the Malaga airport, that the answering machine of the airport announced that the flight was cancelled. The ground personel at Schiphol couldn’t tell us.
As you can imagine our child was exhausted and we had to go home. As a result we had to cancel our hotel en car rental.
The car rental was arranged via Vueling. The hotel via Booking.com. Due to the late cancellation, both websites indicated that we would not receive any restitution. This will result in a loss of 70,87 Euro for the car and 148,75 Euro for one night stay.
Based on Europea law we are entitled to a compensation of 400 Euro per flight in case the flight is over 1500KM and the delay is longer than three hours. Whilst we know the delay is related to the strikes in France, we understand it was a planned strike and widely known in advance, so Vueling could have made the necessary arrangements like other carriers did. All other flights did fly to Malaga.
Therefore, as part of this formal complaint regarding the delay and cancellation, we ask that Vueling reimburse us for our loss related to our flight, car and hotel bookings in addtition to the compensation of 400 Euro per person related to the the delay and cancellation of the flight.

Gewenste Oplossing:
Wij zijn tevreden als we ons geld voor de tickets terugkrijgen en schadeloos worden gesteld voor de kosten die zijn gemaakt. Dat is in totaal iets van 230 Euro. Dit zijn kosten voor huurauto en hotel. De kosten voor consumpties en dergelijke op het vliegveld laten we dan voor wat het is.
