Een klant heeft op 24 december 2022 een ongeautoriseerde transactie op zijn bankrekening ontdekt, gerelateerd aan UPS Nederland. Na herhaaldelijk contact met UPS, waarbij zijn verzoeken niet adequaat werden behandeld, heeft de klant zijn bankkaart geblokkeerd en een nieuwe aangevraagd, wat hem extra kosten en reistijd heeft opgeleverd. Hij vraagt compensatie van UPS voor deze kosten, maar ontvangt geen reactie.

Mijn Klacht:

On 24/12/22 I spot a card transaction on my bank account with a beneficiary of UPS Netherlands followed by a parcel sending a week before. I tried to contact UPS NL, since then they ignore me or passing my request around departments over the phone or email. Just a week ago they told me that the parcel was bigger than it should, that’s why they charged me. I blocked my card due to compromised and used credentials, and ordered a new card from my german bank. As I’m living in the Netherlands but banking in Germany, I needed to pick my new card up from my german residence which is around 250 kms away from my home. That cost me time and fuel which I require to be paid by UPS NL, it cost me alltogether around €150. From UPS side nobody answers to my request.

Gewenste Oplossing:

I would like to get paid for my time and fuel.

Geboden Oplossing:

Hi Gregory,

You won´t be paid for your time and fuel. It´s your own decision to block your card and has nothing to do with UPS.
Also we don´t copy your credentials. If you make a payment by Creditcard you agree with the payment terms. If there are additional cost they will be charged on your card. You can dispute those charges but I checked the system and the charges are correct because when the label was created then the dimensional weight of the shipment was lower then the real dimensional weight of the package.
We are not able to fulfill your request and this case will be closed.

If I would be told right at the first time that why I was being charged, then this whole issue wouldn't be happen. If UPS NL didn't copy my card credentials, then how is that possible in my card statement it shows UPS NL?

Who is \"they\" you mentioned?
And finally, I applied card security which means every online transaction with my card credentials needs to be confirmed in my banking app, apart from 1 particular scenario: when the transaction coded as subscription. This is what happened as I didn't authorized the transaction on 24/06/22.
So the only thing I knew about this matter was that, my card credentials were compromised and used bypassed card serurity because as many UPS emloyee I was talking to, told me something different (somebody even blamed UPS Hungary) I reasonably decide to block it. At that point (and still) I saw no guarantee that my card credentials won't be used again.

Based on the aboves I still hold my compensation request up. As long as you still wouldn't see it legitimate I should ask which government body is regulating UPS NL and which company issued the ISO certificates to UPS NL.
