Een klant diende een klacht in bij UPS over de levering van een belangrijk pakket, dat op 11 januari 2019 zou aankomen. Ondanks het volgen van de trackingservice en het thuisblijven om de koerier te ontvangen, werd de klant geïnformeerd dat er een probleem met het adres was en dat de levering pas vier dagen later zou plaatsvinden, omdat de koerier naar huis ging.

Mijn Klacht:

I’ve been waiting for an important package to arrive today (11.1.2019).
As following the tracking service I’ve seen that the courier is on his way to my place (Schedule to arrive by the end of the day)
I was staying home the whole day so I won’t miss the courier, while constantly checking the tracking service online.
at 16:35 I’ve noticed that the courier somehow have a problem with the address (as I checked was filed correctly on the site as well).
Immediately I contacted the client service, explained the problem and have them telling me that I’ll be contacted back.
20 minute after I’ve received a call telling me that my package would arrive only in 4 days (after the weekend) because the driver is on his way home. To remind you, the time of the call back was 17:30.
I was also told that it was the driver’s last delivery and that’s why he can’t come back.
THAT explains why the driver didn’t open the car’s window and just asked about the address in such a small village.
I think it’s outrageous that I have to wait the whole weekend because of an internal fault from UPS or because of a laziness from the driver.
waiting for the next day would be considered acceptable but not a whole weekend because The driver is already on his way back home as I was told by UPS representative.

Gewenste Oplossing:

I'll be satisfied if UPS will accept their responsibility to the matter and make an effort to provide the package before the weekend (if not the same day as I would definitely expect).

Geboden Oplossing:

Dear Sir,

Our sincere appologies for the inconvenience caused with this delivery. According to the Center there was no house number printed on the original label and therefore the driver did not know the delivery address of your package.

Our delivery center informed you about this matter last Friday. The address has been corrected and your package is Out for delivery today.

UPS corrected the address themselves without me providing the right address, meaning the problem was on their end and could’ve been corrected on the spot by the driver.
I ended up waiting the whole weekend anyway so nothing was really done by UPS ro fix the problem. (Resulting in me not being able to provide a service to my own client).
