Een vrouw klaagt over de onvriendelijke en onbehulpzame houding van een medewerker bij de informatiebalie op Utrecht Centraal Station. Op 16 maart had zij hulp nodig voor haar zieke echtgenoot, die Parkinson heeft, terwijl zij zelf herstellende was van een beroerte. De medewerker weigerde hulp te bieden en toonde geen interesse in hun situatie.

Mijn Klacht:

i would write in dutch but the problem is i have had a stroke and find it all communication difficult right now.
16th march in was in utrecht centraal with my husband to get a cancellation for an internation ticket. that went smoothly. when returning to the main station hall he was not feeling well and id rushed him to the toilets doubled over in pain and he lost bowel control before getting there. he cleaned up but still had difficulty walking.
context: he has parkinsons disease and i had just had a stoke 8 days previous. he can hardly walk, have the stroke my left side and my speech is impaired.
i was desperate for help so asked at the information kiosk if there was someone that can help. the man look at me struggling to speak answer no and turned his head away not interested as if i wasnt there.
there were two other members of staff a man and a woman so i asked them for help with my husband in a state distress. they refused to come to him when i explained i had a stroke and difficulty talking instead in an interrogatory manner wanted to know who i was, where was staying. i was highly distressed and in able to communicate so i kept asking them to come to my husband who was bent double with pain. they didnt move and told me to calm down. i got louder so they came to my husband.
he asked if there was a wheelchair or something he could use. they ignored his question and asked for who he was and where he was from.
he repeateed his question telling them he has parkinson and i had a stroke.
the answer was why dont you bring you own with you or your own crutches
my husband in considerable pain i dont have a wheelchair
the staff repeated to ask who we were and where we were from
my husbands reply was answer the question yes or no and are you going to help us
the answer was no
we walked away me supporting him. the staff did nothing just look at us angry for wasting their time
we got to the platform where he collapsed. i got him seated and waited for the train.

we were interrogated by the staff, felt dehumanized traumatized and completly upset. there was no follow up by the staff for the consideration they showed i my husband could have needed emergecny medical attention and they would not have cared.

Gewenste Oplossing:

i do not know what solutions are available but an apology and investigation of how you could let this happen any make sure it does not happen to anyone else.
