Een klant heeft problemen ervaren met Reizendeals.nl en hun incassobureau Straetus. Na per ongeluk een bod te hebben geplaatst op een vakantiepakket, ontving de klant pas later een aanmaning voor annuleringskosten, zonder voorafgaande notificatie over het winnen van het bod. De communicatie hierover was in de spamfolder beland, waardoor de klant niet op de hoogte was van de situatie.

Mijn Klacht:

I am experiencing with Reizendeals.nl and their debt collection agency, Straetus. I have been receiving demand letters and threats of phone calls concerning cancellation fees for a package holiday I accidentally bid on through their platform.

On April 16, I mistakenly placed a bid on a holiday package on Reizendeals.nl. Unfortunately, I did not receive any notifications or emails ing my bid, likely because these communications were filtered into my spam folder. As a result, I was unaware that I had won the bid and had no intention of proceeding with the purchase.

Recently, I received a demand letter from Straetus, indicating that I owe cancellation fees for this bid. This was the first notification I received about winning the bid, and it came as a complete surprise. The demand letters have been quite aggressive, and I am now being threatened with further action if the fees are not paid.

Gewenste Oplossing:

Stop this email threat and call for unjustified cancellation fees package

Geboden Oplossing:

Dear Jonabel Beltran,

We are very surprised by your complaint. We have checked your details and see that you have booked the deal on April 8th. As you say in your complaint you knew you had placed a bid on a deal.

To place a bid on a deal you must have an account. This account must be activated through a link we send to your e-mail. This way we know the account belongs to you and we know you receive our e-mails.

After placing the bid, you received two e-mails. One with ‘the bid is placed’ and one with the ation of the booking. After this you received two payment reminders as well. We know for a fact you received these e-mails because first you also received the e-mail to activate the account and second you contacted us through e-mail with a screenshot of this payment reminder.

Besides all this it is your own responsibility to check you spambox regularly, especially when you expect an e-mail because you were aware of the bid you had placed so you should expect an e-mail from us after the timer ends to tell you, you either won the auction or someone made a higher bid.
