Mijn Klacht:
We are a household of students living Eindhoven. We used to have a contract with Welkom Energie, that provided us gas and electricity for 11 months, for 110 € a month. Last month we received a letter from a company called Eneco, informing us that the previous company went bankrupt and therefore took over our ‘contract’.
They sent us an invoice of the three months after Welkom Energie went bankrupt, charging us 437 € per month. Before this letter we never received any notice of bankruptcy from the old company, nor any notice from the new company of their taking over and increase of rates. After calling them, we were informed that the rate of 437 € was because we didn’t form a new contract with them. It would have been impossible for us to do that as we didn’t know that we were under this new company. NOBODY INFORMED US ABOUT THIS.
Now they are asking us to pay an invoice of 1300 € for the past 3 months, which being students, we really cannot afford. In addition to that, nobody took the time to inform us of the situation or send us any documents regarding this, so we really find it absurd to have to pay such a big amount of money, given the way things were managed. It feels like a scam.
We demand Eneco to charge us for the amount of energy we actually consumed of the last 3 months and remove this bill of 1400 euros. We are students and literally will struggle to pay rent because of this.
Gewenste Oplossing:
Change to bill to a the actual consumption of energy and take out the extra charge for the three months.
