Mijn Klacht:
In July my father in law came to the Netherlands for a family visit. During his stay, he was sent to the emergency department of OLVG hospital by a general practitioner (huisarts). The hospital monitored him for one night and took some tests and examined him. The result showed that he has had stroke.
His travel insurance did’t give guaranty of payment and claimed that they need to check documents and reports from the hospital before taking any decision on paying medical expenses. As a result we (his son and daughter in law) gave the guaranty of payment to the hospital.
Last month the hospital sent us the invoice to pay 4282, while the insurance company does not answer properly what is there decision and why they don’t pay the medical expenses.
They asked for medical reports more than enough to check whether the tests were needed or not. They even asked for CT scan images even though it was against privacy (the hospital informed us that insurance can not ask for CT images), but the company said that without that they wont continue to process the documents.
Gewenste Oplossing:
When all the medical expense are covered by the insurance company.
