I had booked a ticket for my wife and my 1 year old child to travel to Mumbai (India) from Amsterdam (Netherland) through Brussels Airlines – booking reference number – QJFFWW. When booking the flight it showed that they will be travelling to Brussels in a flight. However, when I went to check in, I was not getting the option to check in from Amsterdam. It later showed that they will have to take a train from Amsterdam to Brussels. When I spoke to someone from supersaver, they advised me to speak to Brussel Airlines directly for this miscommunication. I spoke to 2 people from Brussels airlines – Daisy and Aarianne and they accepted the mistake and advised me that I can get full refund (100%) for this if I cancel the ticket – 629 euros and I had to speak to supersaver again (ofcourse some tax will be deducted. When I spoke to supersaver, I was advised I will have to pay 15 euros per person if there was some special consideration (not sure the term used) or 61 euros per person. Later the person came back to me saying I will get the refund minus 61 euros per person. The person later explains that I will have to pay 15 euros per person if there was some mechanical error with the flight and I could not travel. This is totaly unacceptable. I booked the ticket in good faith and I end up paying for miscommunication by the airlines. I did check with friends about Brussels airlines because I did not want to send my wife and my child without knowing how the airline is and got good reviews. However, my first experience itself has been a disaster. I will be advising my friends and family members to avoid Brussels airlines and also caution them when they are booking thier tickets from supersaver. I know I will not book any flight through supersaver and never travel by brussels airlines in future.
Gewenste Oplossing:
I was still ok to send my wife and child by brussels airlines. The only request I had was to take care of my train travel tickes from Amsterdam to Brussel and back on August 17, 2018 (date of travel) and again on September 10, 2018 when they were returning (i was planning to accompany them since my wife had an operation a couple of weeks ago and the baby is just 1 year old). However, this was declined. The airline is ready for a full refund (which is incorrect info as i will end up paying some amount) but not ready to pay my travel cost.
I am still sending my wife and baby because it is an emergency and they have to travel on the 17th of August. I will be very happy if my travel cost (Amsterdam to Brussels - return from Brussels to Amsterdam on August 17, 2018 and again on September 10, 2018) is refunded. The only reason why I ask this is because if I add my travel cost to the cost of the ticket, I could have booked another flight with another airlines.
Hope this is considered. I am very eager to see what you are willing to do for me.
